An Individual Facilitator License that provides permission to use activities from the How to Learn programs in groups.

If you have used one of the How to Learn programs:

How to Learn the Competencies - 32 Fun Activities to Get You Started

How to Learn the PCC Markers - 32 Fun Activities to Get You Started

How to Learn the Code of Ethics and Core Values -32 Fun Activities to Get You Started

you already know that the activities are designed to make ICF-related learning more practical, engaging, and accessible.

The card activities, puzzles, and quizzes were originally created for individual learning. Many of them can also work beautifully in group settings when they are selected carefully and facilitated well.

That is why I created How to Learn Together: Individual Facilitator License and 27-Page Implementation Guide.

This purchase is first and foremost a license. It gives one named facilitator permission to use selected How to Learn activities in limited, live group learning settings, within the scope of the license.

The included 27-page guide is a concise implementation resource. It helps you understand how to use the license well, choose appropriate activities, prepare materials, and facilitate group learning without changing, rewriting, or rebranding the original materials.

This is not a comprehensive leader's manual, training curriculum, or binder-style facilitator package.

The activities themselves remain inside the full How to Learn programs. To use selected activities with a group, you must personally own the relevant full How to Learn program.

The value of this purchase is the permission to use selected materials with groups in a clear, ethical and protected way.

Why This Is Valuable for You as the Facilitator

This guide is designed to help you use selected How to Learn activities with groups, but the learning value does not stop there.

Because you must personally own the relevant full How to Learn program to use the activities with a group, you also have the opportunity to complete the program for your own professional development.

That means you can work through the activities yourself, complete the confidential final quiz, and earn 8 ICF CCE units in Core Competency for each full How to Learn program you successfully complete.

This is an important benefit.

You are not simply purchasing permission to facilitate selected activities with a group. You are also investing in your own learning, your own understanding of the material, and your own ICF Core Competency CCE requirements.

When you complete the program yourself first, you will be better prepared to choose the right activities, understand their learning purpose, and facilitate them with more confidence.

Who This is For

This guide is especially useful for facilitators who want to bring more interaction and energy into coach learning groups.

It may be a good fit if you facilitate or support ICF Chapter meetings, peer coaching circles, mentor coaching groups, credentialing study groups, coach learning communities, internal coaching communities, professional development gatherings for coaches, or small group learning sessions connected to ICF competencies, markers, ethics, or values.

If you are an ICF Chapter volunteer, this guide can help you use selected How to Learn activities as short, engaging learning moments during monthly meetings or professional development gatherings.

If you lead a peer group, mentor coaching conversation, or coach learning session, this guide can help you create a more active and reflective experience without designing new activities from scratch.

This license is for one named facilitator only. If another facilitator wants to use selected How to Learn activities with groups, they will need to purchase their own full How to Learn program materials and their own Individual Facilitator License.

What This Guide Helps You Do

This guide helps you use the pre-designed activities in the How to Learn programs with groups of coaches.

You will learn how to choose an activity, prepare the materials, adapt the delivery format, and create a thoughtful learning conversation.

The focus is simple:

  • Use the activity as designed.
  • Adapt the group process.
  • Create space for coaches to learn together.

The guide includes practical direction for using selected card activities, puzzles, and approved quiz items as warm-ups, ice breakers, short learning activities, table discussions, breakout room prompts, and closing reflections.

It also includes guidance on copying materials for group use, protecting the integrity of the program materials, clarifying CCE units, and understanding what is and is not included in the Individual Facilitator License.

Why this Matters

Coach learning does not have to feel heavy.

Some of the best learning happens when coaches have a chance to think out loud with one another, compare perspectives, test their understanding, and connect the material to real coaching conversations.

A well-chosen activity can shift the energy in the room.

A card can open a thoughtful conversation.

A puzzle can bring lightness and recall to competency learning.

A quiz item can help coaches slow down and explore their reasoning.

These activities are fun, but they are not just for fun. They are designed to support knowledge building in ICF-aligned areas.

Used well, they can help coaches reconnect with the language and practice of coaching in a way that feels practical, lively, and useful.

Programs Covered

This guide supports approved group use of selected activities from the How to Learn programs you personally own.

The How to Learn programs currently include:

  • How to Learn the Competencies: 32 Fun Activities to Get You Started
  • How to Learn the PCC Markers: 32 Fun Activities to Get You Started
  • How to Learn the Code of Ethics and Core Values: 32 Fun Activities to Get You Started

Your Individual Facilitator License applies only to the How to Learn program materials you personally own.

If you own one program, your license applies only to selected activities from that program.

If you own a bundle that includes more than one program, your license applies to selected activities from the programs included in your bundle.

If you purchase another How to Learn program later, you do not need to purchase a second Individual Facilitator License for your own use. Your existing license will apply to selected activities from the additional program you personally purchase, provided all use remains within the scope of this Individual Facilitator License.

Purchasing additional programs expands which activities you may select from. It does not expand how the materials may be used.

What You Receive

Your purchase includes two connected elements:

An Individual Facilitator License

This license gives one named facilitator permission to use selected activities from the How to Learn program materials they personally own in a limited, live group learning setting.

This is the core value of the purchase.

The license allows you to bring selected activities into settings such as ICF Chapter meetings, Chapter Hub gatherings, peer learning circles, mentor coaching conversations, credentialing study groups, and professional development sessions for coaches, provided the use fits with the license terms.

A Concise 27-Page Implementation Guide

The guide is not a full leader's manual or comprehensive training binder. It is a practical support document that helps you use the license well.

It includes guidance on selecting activities, preparing copies, using card sets, puzzles, and approved quiz items, adapting activities for pairs, table groups, breakout rooms, and group discussion using sample facilitator language, considering timing, supporting virtual meetings, clarifying CCE us, and protecting copyright and integrity of the materials.

The guide does not include the full How to Learn program materials.

To use the activities with a group, you must personally own the relevant full How to Learn program that contains those activities.

When paired with the relevant full How to Learn program that you personally own, this gives you two kinds of value.

First, you may complete the full program for your own leaning and earn 8 ICF CCE units in Core Competency (per program) when you complete the activities and successfully complete the confidential final quiz for each How to Learn program.

Second, once you have purchased the Individual License, you may use selected activities from the program materials you personally own in limited, live group learning settings within the scope of the license.

What This License Allows

This Individual Facilitator License allows one named facilitator to use selected activities from the How to Learn program materials they personally own in limited, live, facilitator-led group learning settings.

You may use selected activities as warm-ups, ice breakers, short learning activities, discussion prompts, table activities, breakout room prompts, or reflective closing activities.

You may prepare the number of copies reasonably needed to run the selected activity with your group. For example, you may prepare one card set per table, one puzzle per small group, or one approved quiz item per participant, depending on the activity and the group format.

You may adapt the group process. You may not adapt the materials themselves. The materials must be used as provided.

What This License Does Not Allow

This Individual Facilitator License does not allow you to use the materials in paid training programs, coach training curriculum, certification support programs, recurring cohort programs, organizational training programs, membership programs, or other commercial educational offers.

You may be a professional facilitator. You may be paid for your time in some settings. However, this license does not allow the How to Learn materials to become part of your own paid educational product, curriculum, repeat program, or revenue-generating training offer.

If you want to use the materials inside a paid workshop, paid course, paid mentor coaching program, paid credentialing support program, recurring cohort, coaching school curriculum, certification support program, membership program, or other commercial learning offer, you need a separate Commercial Training or Curriculum License from Perspective In Action.

This license also does not allow use by more than one facilitator. If another facilitator wants to use selected How to Learn activities with groups, they need their own full How to Learn program materials and their own Individual Facilitator License.

Important CCE Clarification

This guide does not provide CCE units on its own.

Each full How to Learn program provides 8 ICF CCE units in Core Competency for individual learners who purchase the full program, complete the activities, and successfully complete the confidential final quiz.

This is one of the benefits of purchasing and completing the full How to Learn program materials for your own use. When you complete the program yourself, you strengthen your own understanding of the material and earn CCE units for your own professional development.

This also prepares you to facilitate selected activities more effectively with a group, because you will be familiar with the materials, the learning purpose, and the way the activities support ICF-aligned coach development.

Group participants do not receive CCE units when selected materials are used in group activities, warm-ups, ice breakers, peer discussions, chapter meetings, or facilitated sessions.

The final quiz in each How to Learn program is confidential. It may not be used, referenced, copied, displayed, discussed, distributed, adapted, screen shared, or shared in any group setting.

Important Use Notice

The How to Learn materials must be used as provided.

They may not be revised, rewritten, edited, rebranded, repackaged, uploaded, redistributed, or presented as your own materials.

Screen sharing or displaying the materials directly from the Teachable course site is prohibited.

The materials may not be uploaded to a shared drive, learning platform, website, group portal, membership site, slide deck, or public resource library.

This guide gives you permission to adapt the facilitation process, not the materials themselves.
